For our two-year anniversary, my boyfriend, Bryson, surprised me with a trip to Tybee Island and Savannah, Georgia! I had never been before and he knows how much I LOVE the beach, so naturally this was the trip to plan. In the spirit of true honesty, he told me we were going to Savannah not Tybee Island and I had no idea that there was even a beach nearby.
Looking back now, I'm not exactly sure how I didn't catch on that Savannah is a coastal town and the coast = beach... but I was in total shock when we got to our Air BnB and he told me it was equidistant between Savannah and Tybee Island! Since I didn't know (and Bryson didn't know I didn't know) that we were going to be stopping by the beach I definitely didn't
pack a bathing suit. I checked the weather,
saw rainy and 75, and packed accordingly.
BUT! When we got there, it was sunny as all get out and 85 degrees. Now our anniversary is in March, so how this miracle happened, I'm not so sure! We ran to the nearest WalMart we could find, bought a swim suit, changed in the dressing room, and zoomed over to the beach!
We were definitely all smiles the whole time! I just remember parking the car and then running on to the beach to chase the waves, screaming in excitement all the way! Bryson definitely knows how to plan a great trip- little did he know just how surprised I was.
We walked for miles, definitely more than we intended to, but when you're with your favorite company an hour feels like a second. After walking along the pier and watching the sun set, it was time for dinner!! Walking along the beach and playing in the sand all day really works up an appetite, let me tell you, so we decided to drive into Savannah and find a place along the river to grab some dinner.
Now as if walking along the beach all day wasn't enough, we decided to walk all along the cobblestone paths to find the perfect place to eat- and we definitely did. They had the best waffle cut sweet potato fries with the yummiest homemade honey butter! Ah, so delicious!
The next day started with more of the same: Bryson and I acting like goofballs on the beach. Around lunch time we decided to go into Savannah and explore around... after grabbing a delicious lunch of course! Actually, I would like to note that while we were sitting outside eating, we spotted Emily VanCamp and Josh Bowman which was cool to say the least!
We explored around the city and there were just so many places to shop and things to see! There was live music in the streets and so much art; my heart was oh so happy! One day to explore the city was definitely not enough, but we definitely plan to come back as soon as we get the chance!
I can without a doubt say that this was my favorite anniversary yet... which sounds kind of funny because there have only been two of them, but this one was an adventure for sure! I love exploring new places and seeing the world with my best friend by my side and this was definitely a trip worth remembering... just as these handstands are!
XO,
Bec
