Located just two miles from downtown Athens, home.made is a quintessential local restaurant that will leave you feeling far more than satisfied. Whether you want to book a room in-house for your rehearsal dinner, have them provide catering to your wedding venue, or just pop in for a delicious meal, home.made is a choice that comes highly recommended by many. Paula Deen even says Chef Mimi Maumus can’t be beaten!

The Chef.

Mimi Maumus is the chef and owner extraordinaire of home.made. She started home.made from the ground up and continues to prove its excellence as time goes on. Maumus’ cooking style is very much inspired by her childhood, and her passion for what she does shines through in each of her creations. She started home.made as a personal chef and catering business and has stuck through all of the long, late nights to get her restaurant to where it is today. Awarded many accolades such as winning “Taste of Athens” as well as being regarded as “Best Caterer” from both the Flagpole and Athens Banner Herald publications, Maumus’ home.made has grown immensely since its start in 2006.

The Menu.

Home.made serves a unique take on classic southern-style food. From Shrimp and Grits to Mississippi Mud Brownies, home.made puts its own twists on old classics to make them a new experience that is memorable and worth enjoying. Not to mention that their plating is exquisite!

Home.made offers a variety of menus that are specific to the time in which you are dining. The lunch menu, full of delicious snacks, salads, and sandwiches is offered from 11:00-2:00 Tuesday - Friday. The dinner menu, offered from Tuesday - Thursday 5:00-9:00 and Friday - Saturday 5:00-9:30, features mouth-watering main courses and delicious desserts to finish off your night. They also have specialty menus for Supper Club (Saturdays 5:00-6:00 and Tuesday - Thursday 8:00-9:00) and Saturday Brunch (Saturdays 10:00-2:00) that are just as noteworthy. Dinner reservations can be made via their website. Don’t wait! You won’t want to miss out on all the fixings!

Their catering menu varieties include Hors D’oeuvres, Sandwich Platters & Boxed Lunches, Salads, Sides & Entrees, and Tailgating. Offered within each category is a variety of options so the possibilities feel endless (and very delicious)! If I haven’t convinced you enough, home.made offers an entire section of testimonials on their website! There you can find featured, personal reviews from customers who loved their home.made catering experience.

As for room rentals, home.made has a private dining room available for booking. This space can house parties for up to 65 people making it the perfect place for a get-together. Prices can vary based on time of year and reservations must be made in advance; we recommend at least a month. The event space inquiry form can be found on home.made’s website.
