After touring the Classic Center in Downtown Athens, I was amazed by all the venue had to offer. Not only is the Classic Center a stunning venue for weddings and social events and a perfect venue center for performing arts, conferences, and conventions, but it also holds one of the United States’ only moveable, indoor ice rinks. It is an extremely versatile venue that had many capabilities that were unbeknownst to me. Housing over 800 events a year, the Classic Center stays busy with all different types of visitors. This event number is insane compared to the average of 300-350 that other venues host. I was amazed by what all the Classic Center and its staff manage to pull off every year and, seemingly, without a hitch.
As a wedding and reception venue, the Classic Center provides an elegant ballroom a beautiful, open floorplan and big, bright windows. The ballroom holds hundreds of people and is perfect if you are looking for a room with customizable layouts for both seating and dancing. You can even take a virtual tour of the space to get a feel for what it would be like to take a walk around the room.
In addition to the Classic Center’s ballroom, they offer a more intimate setting at the Foundry Building which is equally as stunning. Featuring exposed brick and wood beams with original warehouse doors, the Foundry Building is a historic space that is more than ideal for an intimate, rustic wedding. Whether your wedding is small or large-scale, the Classic Center offers the perfect venue that will meet your exact needs while making your wedding day one that is sure to be remembered.
The Classic Center offers a complete wedding package covering all bases from the rehearsal dinner and ceremony to the reception and wedding cake! They have the option to choose their in-house caterer, Levy, who provides gourmet dinner, hors d’oeuvres, a custom wedding cake, and table-side service to top it all off. The menu is completely customizable leaving all the major choices up to you! Whether you want White Sea Bass or a New York Strip, Levy has you covered.
Because of the hundreds of events planned in-house every year, it is recommended that you plan your event well in advance. You can book a room starting as early as 18 months in advance.
